I think that this month's excursion has topped them all. My dad and I had SUCH a great time at Bishop's Castle just outside of Pueblo. Here's a link to their website.
http://www.bishopcastle.org/. It was well worth the 3 hour drive from Denver. The entire structure is hand built by one man. It was his dream to own a castle...and he does! The entire structure is amazing from an artistic and engineering point of view. Hence why my dad (Mr. engineer himself) and I fell in love with the place. Every corner you turn around there's something new to photograph. There are hidden stairwells and heights to climb to beyond your imagination. I have many new great memories from this trip and strongly urge anyone to take a Saturday and make the drive to this amazing location. It will not disappoint.
I normally don't include photos of myself and my dad, but this time I had to just to give you a perspective of how high this structure goes. We were standing on the bridge that's on the left of this photo. It literally just drops off and ends to nowhere. The wind was swaying us...made the adrenaline pump for sure! Such a great experience! I'll definitely be going back!
